Coach's Evaluation
A defender who can change the game going forward.
Sydney is a strong, intelligent and versatile defender who can impact the game on both sides of the ball. She reads the game well, stays composed under pressure, and has the speed and physical presence to defend effectively in space and in 1v1 situations.
While defending is her primary role, Sydney also has the technical ability and confidence to step into attacking situations when the game calls for it. She can win possession, carry the ball forward, break lines and become a genuine attacking threat without losing sight of her defensive responsibilities.
Her consistency and impact at the high-school level earned her League Defender of the Year. What I value most is her ability to understand what the game requires and adapt to the role the team needs from her.
